AFSE and NASE Joint Conference |

The first combined conference of AfSE and NASE took place in Swansea on 21/22 April 2005. Nearly 300 delegates gathered to hear keynote presentations from Peter Little OBE, who is leading the independent review of LSC funded provision for people with disabilities, and Peter White, the BBC's Disability Correspondent. The minister was unable to attend because of the forthcoming general election and this prevented a few of the planned workshops from taking place. Nevertheless, a programme of 19 workshops was offered on a wide variety of themes. The conference was a great success though we acknowledge a few teething problems with organising a conference as large as this for the first time. We should be able to iron out these difficulties next year.
