Embracing Diversity at Coventry Care Leavers' Seminar

Nearly a hundred people turned out for the event at Coventry Central Hall. The audience included professionals from across the country, representatives from central government and young care leavers eager to have their say. People began arriving at 9.30am for coffee and networking before an opening address by Dave Simmonds the Director of the Centre for Economic and Social Inclusion.

At quarter to 11 Paula took the stage to give the hordes an overview of the work done by Embracing Diversity. After rapturous applause questions included "How did the project begin?" followed by an enthusiastic endorsement of the skills needed to work with employers by Dave Simmonds.

And the acknowledgement didn’t stop there. We have received fantastic feedback following the event with enquiries from around the country including other councils such as York. So a successful outing spreading the word of Embracing Diversity, here’s to many more to come…

National Care Leaver’s Week was organised by the Brynmelyn Foundation.
